Katie Dunbar received her MFA in Visual Studies from the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and BA in Fine Arts from the University of California Santa Cruz. During her creative career-path, she discovered backpacking, and a deep love for hiking and the natural wilderness. She has completed the entire Pacific Crest Trail, Montana/New Mexico lengths on the Continental Divide, The Wonderland Trail (counter and clockwise), the Timberline Trail, Wildwood Trail, and hundreds of additional miles on other trails. Dunbar's practice becomes about sharing these experiences. By confronting and dissect conceptual narratives exposing visited environments, she has centered her creativity around her natural surroundings, sustainability, conservation, and the wild community outdoors.
